Orleans lodging atOoh la la. (Naughty. In 1800s, our New Orleans bed and breakfast home was a bordello catering to society’s elite). Now, a New Orleans bed and breakfast, in a convenient New Orleans location, so no car needed. YESSIREE. Our accommodations at the B&B are an easy walk to all attractions in New Orleans French Quarter. Music clubs and bars on Bourbon Street, the nightlife in the French Quarter is something you'll never forget. Restaurants in New Orleans rival those in any major city, and there seems to be music on almost every corner: Cajun, Zydeco, Jazz, Blues, R&B, and don't forget historic Faubourg Treme neighborhood nearby.
RECENT MEDIA on us:
*Shhh! Keep it quiet. Ready for a little ROMANCE? Did you see the online network news article about our being one of the 'Top 5 hotels for . . .'?
We were also featured in New Orleans/French Quarter section of TravelPulse's travel agent online newsletter as one of the "Best romantic getaways".
Did you see us on ABC's© 'Haunted New Orleans' TV series?
Lots of travel blogs and travel sites have started highlighting our New Orleans B&B, too.
We're even on UTube for our New Orleans accommodation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwrbf-OzCTI
MORE MEDIA: GUESS there is no one in the USA that doesn't know about the Who D'at nation now, or about our New Orleans Saints football Team winning the Superbowl.
*HERE IS THE Shhh! photo:

After a day exploring New Orleans French Quarter, relax in the hammock in our courtyard, or on the porch swing on our verandah ('verandah' is a fancy Southern word that really means 'front porch', and 'courtyard' in New Orleans is what folks who don't live here might call a 'patio'). Then you'll be relaxed and ready to see MORE of our local 'characters', and listen to the music that made New Orleans famous.
We offer the ultimate in French Quarter Lagniappe
+ Southern hospitality that some folks call Creole hospitality.
Don't just visit N'Awlins - LIVE it like a local® Make your New Orleans vacation one you'll remember forever. Use us as a sounding board or check out our INSIDER Eguides: New Orleans attractions, where to find the best Jazz, Zydeco, Cajun music, nightlife in New Orleans, dancing, dining in French Quarter and New Orleans restaurants, where to find the best food, French Quarter history, Haunted New Orleans Walking Tour, Bourbon St. bars, culture, sightseeing, New Orleans tours. Some folks say we have concierge service, extraordinaire. (That's just a fancy way of saying we're here to help you.)

PLEASE GIVE US YOUR OPINION: ♫ Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are? ♫ There are so many folks live in industrial areas or big cities who've never seen a clear sky with all the galaxies and stars twinkling, we thought a celestial ceiling might be a special treat for our guests. We're redecorating and considering a stargazing trompe loeil, night sky galaxy ceiling mural for 1 or 2 rooms (it's a ceiling where you can pretend that you are lying in a serene field and escape into the sky's soft twinkle and glow of a starry sky).
We are told by some of our guests that it's a way to relax at the end of the day and let our worries melt away as you go to sleep. Both romantic and inspirational, it's like counting sheep. You're asleep before you know it, carrying that peaceful state all through the night.
Call us toll free at 800-842-4748 or email us at info@bananacourtyard.com to let us know what you think. If you gotta send an email, please type CELESTIAL CEILING in the subject line.

Looking for a bargain, but don't want to give up amenities? REASONABLE RATES (all applicable taxes included): (Many guests return to us and recommend us to others because of our GREAT location, personal service, and "extras". Another reason guests keep coming back is our reasonable prices.) (Don't get TOO excited about lowest rate. Only ONE of our accommodations is priced this low and rate applies ONLY for multiple night stay) Rates and package prices are subject to change without notice, especially since we ARE NOT ABLE to revise web site often.

REGULAR rates from $99/night weeknights

WeekEND night rates are more
There's always a chance of a last minute availability discount. (Don't be disappointed. Sometimes last minute rates are less, sometimes more.)

We don't have many rooms, so our accommodations rent quickly, because they are very popular (more than 50% of our guests have stayed with us before, so our rooms rent faster than many French Quarter B&Bs). It's ALWAYS better to call, so you can get your 1st choice of accommodation. Please remember we do NOT have a large staff, so an email may not be opened right away and the room you want for your dates may be gone (Nope, we aren't the Ritz. New Orleans French Quarter,
. . . just the way you imagined!
Double click image to enlarge this photo: Press BACK to return to this page.
Folks are always amazed how SMALL the French Quarter is (about 7 by 12, short blocks). You can walk from one end of the French Quarter to the other in only 15-20 minutes! When we walk guests from the main B&B to Bourbon St., it only takes a couple of minutes. OR in only 5 minutes and are you are at Frenchman St., Decatur St. and the Mississippi River. It only takes 7 minutes to walk to the Flea Market, then through the French Market, pass by Central Grocery for a trip back in time and a muffulatta sandwich (muffelata, Muffoletta, Muffelatta, there are so many different spellings and pronunciations -- don't worry) , 10-12 minutes from the main B&B and you are at Cafe du Monde, Jackson Square where the horse and buggies are lined up in front of St. Louis Cathedral! (Mostly mules, but horse and buggy sounds more romantic, huh?!) (Nope. That 10-12 minute walk does not include the time you will take peeking in courtyard gates or window shopping, or just ambling along, 'cause you are on holiday or vacation and don't have to be any place at a set time.)
Did you know that New Orleans (and the French Quarter) is the "Most haunted city in America"?

1st TRIP to the FRENCH QUARTER
?
1st TIME staying at a BED AND
BREAKFAST (B&B)?
It's our pleasure to help 1st time visitors (we
call y'all French Quarter "virgins") and international travelers enjoy our city to the
fullest. From helping you plan your itinerary to giving you special
executive reservation numbers at popular restaurants, telling you about the
most popular music clubs and your, steering you away from 'tourist traps" we do
whatever it takes to ensure a fun filled, memory packed trip.
A mixed bag of guests: Most people find out about us through word-of-mouth recommendation from previous guests. Although many of our REPEAT guests are from the academic and medical community, since the late '90s, we have been pleased to host and pamper many guests with diverse backgrounds: groups and reunions, traveling business women, mothers and their grown daughters, fathers and sons, grandparents with grandchild, consequently initiating just plain "folks" and younger guests into New Orleans French Quarter B&B life.
We hope we can be your hosts
in the Big Easy!
Professional Affiliations:
(FYI: At the B&B, we've got a stuffed peacock (from a movie set), vintage turtle shells made into light fixtures, goat pelt throws, mink/fox choker, etc. It ain't our fault -- we inherited these things, but if the thought of being in the same house with them turns you off, consider one of our other accommodations, instead.)

Last but NOT least, thanks to all our great GUESTS. They keep coming back, referring family, friends and colleagues to us. Some have made MAJOR contributions to our WEB site over the years. Just like the Oscar awards, I'm sure I'm going to omit mentioning someone who helped us, but open up the REVIEWS/GUEST COMMENTS section to the left and you'll see at least we've made a start (a major achievement for us to get ANYTHING started). Eventually, we'll get more guests photo's posted there, too.
